It Takes a Village

In Africa, we have a saying, "it takes a village to raise a child". At Imani Parents' School, we have many parents who are deeply involved in helping us raise our village's children. One of these is a mother we call Mama Aime.

A Quiet Strength

At Imani Parents’ School, many stories of resilience and hope unfold quietly each day—stories that remind us why our mission matters.

Mama Aime is the mother of two boys who are currently enrolled at our school. Due to difficult circumstances, her husband is no longer present in her life, leaving her to carry the full responsibility of raising her children alone.

Life has not been easy for her. Like many in our community, she faces daily challenges shaped by poverty and uncertainty.

Yet, in the midst of these hardships, Mama Aime has chosen gratitude over despair.

Volunteering

Because Imani Parents’ School supports her sons with free education, she gives back in the only way she can—through service. As a volunteer, she helps care for the nursery section, working as a cleaner and ensuring that the youngest learners have a safe and clean environment. Her work is humble, often unseen, but deeply meaningful.

She arrives each day not just with a willingness to work, but with a heart full of appreciation. Her actions speak of dignity, responsibility, and a quiet strength that inspires those around her.

Mama Aimé is not alone. She represents many parents within our school community—individuals who are doing their very best with what little they have, yet still finding ways to contribute, to support, and to believe in a better future for their children.

You Are Making A Difference

Her story is also a powerful reminder to our donors and partners: your generosity is making a real difference.

Behind every contribution is a child receiving an education, a parent finding hope, and a family being uplifted. Your support does not disappear into a system—it reaches real people like Mama Aimé, who turns that support into opportunity, dignity, and transformation.

At Imani Parents’ School, we are not just educating children—we are strengthening families and building a community where even the smallest acts of kindness can change lives.

Mama Aimé’s story is living proof of that.
