Building Strong Families: The Parenting Program at Imani Parents’ School
At Imani Parents’ School, we believe that education does not begin and end in the classroom—it starts at home. A child’s character, discipline, and values are deeply shaped by the guidance they receive from their parents or guardians.
With this in mind, we launched a special initiative known as the Parenting Program, a platform designed to walk hand in hand with families as they nurture the next generation.
Building Godly Community
Every two weeks, we invite parents from a specific class to join us at the school. These sessions are intentional, focused, and deeply rooted in Christian principles.
Together, we explore what it truly means to raise children with love, discipline, wisdom, and faith. Our goal is not just to teach parenting techniques, but to build a strong, supportive community grounded in God’s Word.
A Faith-Based Foundation
Our program is built on the understanding that parenting is both a responsibility and a calling. The Bible provides clear guidance on how children should be raised, and we use these teachings as our foundation.
As it is written in Proverbs 22:6:
"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."
We remind parents that their role goes beyond providing basic needs—it is about shaping the hearts and minds of their children.
Through prayer, scripture, and discussion, we encourage parents to lead by example and create homes where Christ is at the center.
Another key verse we reflect on is Ephesians 6:4:
"Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."
These teachings guide our conversations on discipline, communication, and emotional support within families.
Facing Real Challenges Together
While our vision is strong, we cannot ignore the realities many of our families face. The Parenting Program has also become a safe space where challenges are acknowledged and addressed openly.
Many of our parents struggle with poverty, which can make it difficult to provide even the most basic needs for their children. Financial stress often affects family relationships and the ability to focus on nurturing a child’s development.
We also have a significant number of single mothers who carry the heavy responsibility of raising children on their own. These mothers show incredible strength, but they often need encouragement, support, and practical guidance.
Additionally, we care for orphans, children who have lost one or both parents. These children require not only physical care but also deep emotional healing and a strong sense of belonging.
In all these situations, we turn to scripture for comfort and direction. As Psalm 68:5 reminds us:
"A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling."
This verse reassures us that God sees every struggle and calls us as a community to support one another.
A Growing Impact
Through this program, we have seen parents become more engaged, more confident, and more intentional in raising their children. Relationships between parents and teachers have grown stronger, creating a unified approach to each child’s development.
Most importantly, we are witnessing children thrive—not only academically, but spiritually and emotionally—because their homes are becoming places of love, structure, and faith.
Looking Ahead
The Parenting Program at Imani Parents’ School is more than an activity—it is a movement. A movement to restore families, strengthen communities, and raise children who will grow into responsible, God-fearing individuals.

As we continue this journey, we remain committed to walking alongside our parents, equipping them with both biblical wisdom and practical tools.
Because when families are strong, children succeed—and when children succeed, the future is bright.
“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” — Joshua 24:15.
